Plasminogen, Human
Product background: Plasminogen is the precursor of Plasmin, which is a protease present in blood that is involved in the degradation of Abeta peptides. The conversion of Plasminogen to Plasmin is mediated by 2 Plasminogen activators, to allow APP alpha-cleavage and Beta-Amyloid degradation. Both of these reactions are reduced in patients with Alzheimer’s Disease.
About the product: Human Plasminogen is purified from human plasma and is sold as a lyophilized powder in 20mM Tris-HCl pH 7.5 with 2mM EDTA.
Applications: Human Plasminogen is in a native form and may be suitable for cellular assays, aggregation studies or as a therapeutic target.
