Ribavirin

Clinically useful antiviral guanosine nucleoside analog, active against RSV, hepatitis C and other RNA and DNA viruses. Binds to and redistributes eIF4E from the nucleus to the cytoplasm3 and inhibits eIF4E-dependent Akt survival signaling. Displays efficacy against atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumors and inhibits glioma cell growth. A molecular docking study suggests effectiveness against SARS-CoV-2 RNA-dependent RNA polymerase.
