Tau-441 Preformed Fibrils

Product background: The Tau proteins are a family of neuronal microtubule associated proteins that are found in the neurofibrillary tangles often associated with Alzheimer’s Disease. Tau promotes the assembly and maintains the structure of microtubules in neuronal cells.

About the product: Expressed recombinantly in E. coli, human Tau-441 is purified to our highest standards to ensure batch to batch consistency in both purity and quality. The human Tau-441 is then made into preformed fibrils with their presence and length being confirmed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and thioflavin fluorescence assay.

Applications: These human Tau-441 preformed fibrils are sold as a frozen 2mg/mL solution of total protein. The fibrils could be suitable for either in vitro or in vivo requirements such as fibril stability, seeding experiments, aggregation studies, or preformed fibril injections. Tau-441 preformed fibrils may also be used as a neurofibrillary tangle model in any other study of Alzheimer’s disease.
